New York Public Library & Central Park Elopement | Brittany and Jonathan

Brittany and Jonathan planned a wedding day that celebrated everything they loved about New York City. Elegant architecture, peaceful moments in nature, meaningful time with their closest family and friends, and an experience that felt timeless from beginning to end. Every part of the day flowed naturally from one iconic location to the next while keeping the focus exactly where it belonged, on the two of them.

The day began at The Beekman, A Thompson Hotel where they shared their first look in one of New York’s most beautiful historic hotels. The Beekman’s soaring atrium, intricate ironwork, and soft natural light create an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate. In our experience, beginning the day with a first look inside the hotel allows couples to enjoy one of the most emotional moments of the wedding before the excitement of the ceremony begins. It also creates a relaxed pace that carries through the entire day.

After spending time together at the hotel, we headed to New York Public Library. Few places capture the elegance of New York quite like the library. The marble staircases, soaring ceilings, historic reading rooms, and classical architecture create an editorial backdrop that never goes out of style. Whether inside the grand halls or on the famous front steps, every corner feels cinematic. The light reflecting through the large windows creates beautiful depth and soft highlights that make portraits look effortlessly timeless.

One of the best things about planning an NYC elopement is combining completely different locations in a single day. If you are wondering where to take elegant wedding photos in New York City, the New York Public Library and Central Park remain one of the most iconic combinations for couples looking for a classic New York wedding experience.

From Midtown, we made our way into Central Park where the atmosphere immediately became quieter and more intimate. We spent time exploring the park before arriving at Bethesda Terrace for portraits surrounded by the beauty of late spring. The warm greenery, calm pathways, and timeless architecture created the perfect transition from the elegance of the library to the peaceful setting of the ceremony.

The ceremony took place beside the water in one of Central Park’s hidden locations where family and friends were already waiting. It was private, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful views that made the entire moment feel incredibly personal. One of the reasons we love these lesser known ceremony spots is that they allow couples to exchange vows without distractions while still enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery in the park.

As Brittany and Jonathan read their personal vows to one another, the entire space became quiet. Every word carried meaning. They exchanged rings surrounded by the people who matter most, with nothing but the sound of the water and the gentle movement of the trees around them. There were tears, smiles, and the kind of heartfelt reactions that remind everyone why intimate weddings leave such a lasting impression.
